Anonymous asked: I didn't want to reblog you racism post and I'm not okay with racism but cracker has another definition that is widely used, whereas Nigger has only one prominent definition. You can't justify which word is "worse". They're both bad and it shouldn't be a competition on who we should feel worse for. Get over yourself.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL The fact that cracker has other definitions that are commonly used and “nigger” can’t even be uttered in polite conversation is evidence that it is worse.
Cracker also derives from the sound the whip made when slave owners whipped their slaves. These “crackers” (and pretty much every other white person ever) referred to slaves as “niggers.” When you say that word to a black person, they are reminded of centuries of oppression and forced to face the reality that it is still a prominent force in their lives. It is a dehumanizing word. A “nigger” was not a rude word for a”black person.” a nigger was a nigger. A nigger was chattel and that’s all.
When I call your dumb ass a cracker, I’m reminding you of a delicious salted snack item. And if I’m not doing that, I’m reminding you of owning property, land, human beings and the affluence that comes from that. And if I’m not doing that, I’m reminding you that black people don’t fuckin’ like y’all all the time. And that’s probably because you keep calling us niggers and acting like we’re all in this together with your crisp dry salty ass.
